The 6th generation Honda Accord was available since 1997 in 2-door coupe and 4-door sedan body styles (the sedan was offered in DX, LX and EX trims while the coupe was offered only in LX and EX trims). All 4-cylinder North America models came with a five-speed manual transmission standard, and with a four-speed automatic as optional equipment. The 7th generation Honda Accord was available since 2003 in same body styles and trim levels with new four-cylinder and V6 engines. In 2005 Honda offered the Hybrid model with 3.0L SOHC i-VTEC VCM V6 JNA1 engine.
The 8th generation Honda Accord was introduced for the 2008 model year (sedan trims include the EX, LX and SE, while coupes have EX and LX only). In 2009 the V-6 engines were re-rated. In 2013 Honda offered the 9th generation Honda Accord.
