The 1st generation Acura Legend was available since 1986 in 2-door coupe and 4-door sedan body styles. One petrol engines was available: 2.5 L Honda C25A V6 produced 151 hp (113 kW) at 5,800 rpm and 154 lb·ft (209 N·m) at 4,500 rpm. In 1988, the new petrol engine was added: 2.7 L Honda C27A V6 produced 161 hp (120 kW) at 5,900 rpm and 162 lb·ft (220 N·m) at 4,500 rpm. The standard transmission was a 4-speed automatic while a 5-speed manual transmission was an option. In 1989, the Acura Legend sedan received some minor tweaks. The 2nd generation Acura Legend was available since 1991 in base, L and LS trims. One petrol engines was available: 3.2 L Honda C32A V6 produced 260 hp (194 kW) at 5,500 rpm and 210 lb·ft (285 N·m) at 4,500 rpm. In 1993, the engine was upgraded (all sedans were powered by a Honda C32A Type II engine produced 230 hp (172 kW) at 6,200 rpm and 206 lb·ft (279 N·m) at 5,000 rpm, along with the option of a six-speed manual transmission). In 1994, the base sedan was dropped, while a new GS sedan became the new top-line variant. The LS trim lost the option for 5/6-speed manual transmissions and was only available with a four-speed automatic transmission.
