The 6th generation Dodge Charger (LX) was introduced in 2005 in 4-door sedan body style (four trim levels were available: SE, SXT, R/T, and SRT-8). The Dodge Charger SE and SXT were equipped with Chrysler’s 2.7 L EER V6 engine produced 190 hp (142 kW) and 190 lb·ft (258 N·m) of torque and 3.5 L EGG V6 engine produced 250 hp (186 kW) and 250 lb·ft (339 N·m). The R/T version used the 5.7 L EZB HEMI V8 engine produced 340-350 hp (254-261 kW) and 390 lb·ft (529 N·m) of torque. In 2009 the 5.7L EZB was replaced with a new 5.7 L EZD HEMI V8 engine produced 368-372 hp (274-277 kW) and 395 lb·ft (536 N·m) of torque. The SRT-8 model comes with the 6.1 L ESF HEMI V8 engine 425 hp (317 kW) and 420 lb·ft (569 N·m) of torque.
The 7th generation Dodge Charger (LD) was introduced in 2011 in the same body style (eight trim levels were available: SE, SXT, SXT Plus, R/T, SRT8, SRT8 Super Bee, SRT 392, and SRT Hellcat). Two engines were available: the 3.6 L Pentastar V6 engine produced 292 hp (218 kW) at 6350 rpm and 260 lb·ft (353 N·m)at 4800 rpm of torque and the 5.7 L Eagle EZD HEMI V8 engine produced 370 hp (280 kW) at 5250 rpm and 395 lb·ft (536 N·m) at 4200 rpm of torque. In 2012 these engines were updated and a new 6.4 L ESG HEMI V8 engine produced 470 hp (350 kW) and 470 lb·ft (640 N·m) was added. In 2015 Dodge Charger was facelifted. The 6.4L ESG HEMI V8 engine was updated to 485 hp (362 kW) and 475 lb·ft (644 N·m) and a new 6.2 L Hellcat V8 engine produced 707 hp (527 kW) at 6000 rpm and 650 lb·ft (880 N·m) at 4000 rpm of torque was added.
