Ford Aspire (the 2nd generation of Ford Festiva) was introduced in 1994 in 3-door hatchback and 5-door hatchback body styles. Two petrol engines were available: 1.3 L Mazda B3 I4 produced 63 hp (47 kW) at 5,000 rpm and 74 lb·ft (100 N·m) at 3,000 rpm, 1.5 L Mazda B5 I4 produced 88 hp (66 kW) at 5,000 rpm and 99 lb·ft (134 N·m) at 4,000 rpm. Transmission options comprised a five-speed manual transmission, although all models could be optioned with a three-speed Jatco 3N71 automatic. Power steering was only available with Ford Aspire 5-door automatic. The 3-door hatchback was available in base and SE trim while the 5-door hatchback was only available in base trim. Ford Aspire SE offered a sporting package that consisted of fog lights, alloy wheels, rear spoiler, blue face instrument cluster with tachometer, and upgraded interior trim.
