The 1st generation of Ford Taunus (TC) was available since 1970 in 2-door or 4-door saloon, 5-door station wagon and 2-door coupe body styles. Eight trim levels were available: Bravo, L, GL, LS, GLS, S, Ghia, and Ghia S. The standard transmission was the 4-speed manual while the 3-speed Borg-Warner B35 automatic was an option (except the 1.3L TL13 model). In 1973, Ford Taunus was facelifted (the 1.6L TL16 was upgraded). The 2nd generation Ford Taunus was available since 1976 in the same body style. The new 2.0L TL20 engine was added. The 3rd generation Ford Taunus was available since 1979.
