The 1st generation Honda Saber was available since 1997 in a 4-door sedan body style. Three petrol engines were available: 2.0 L G20A1 I5 produced 153-158 hp (114-118 kW) at 6,700 rpm and 137 lb·ft (186 N·m) at 4,000 rpm, 2.5 L G25A1 I5 produced 188 hp (140 kW) at 6,500 rpm and 175 lb·ft (237 N·m) at 3,800 rpm, 3.2 L C32A5 V6 produced 230 hp (172 kW) at 5,200 rpm and 206 lb·ft (279 N·m) at 2,800 rpm.
The 2nd generation Honda Saber was available since 1999 in the same body style. Two petrol engines were available: 2.5 L J25A VTEC V6 produced 200 hp (149 kW) at 6,200 rpm and 177 lb·ft (240 N·m) of torque at 4,600 rpm, 3.2 L J32A1 VTEC V6 produced 225 hp (168 kW) at 5,600 rpm and 217 lb·ft (294 N·m) at 4,700 rpm.
