Two petrol engines were available: 1.8 L 2ZR-FE I4 produced 128 hp (95 kW) at 6,000 rpm and 126 lb·ft (171 N·m) at 4,400 rpm, 2.4 L 2AZ-FE I4 produced 160 hp (120 kW) at 5,600 rpm and 162 lb·ft (220 N·m) of torque at 4,000 rpm.
